The Reconstructors' Medical Mysteries has been developed with both home and school access in mind. We combine technology and content appropriate for everyone from beginning to expert computer users.
 

Macromedia Flash® Plug-in Needed

To play MedMyst, you must have Macromedia Flash® Player (version 5.0 or newer) installed on your computer. Most of the newer web browsers include this feature already.

If you find that it is not part of you browser's package, you may download the Adobe Flash® plug-in from Adobe's web site. It's fast, easy, and totally free. Follow the simple instructions on Macromedia's Web site to download and install the Flash plug-in. Once this is done, you are ready to begin your adventure!
 

Operating System Requirements

Because MedMyst uses Flash animation to keep file sizes small, it will run efficiently on the variety of computer platforms found in homes and schools. Our suggested minumum requirements for platforms are:

• Macintosh computers running Mac OS 9.0 (or higher)

For best performance, use a computer with at least 128 MB of memory.
 

Web Browsers

There are many web browsers that are satisfactory for use with the MedMyst web adventures, we have found that the following browsers offer the most optimal viewing experience:

• Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher (PC only)
   
  
• Mozilla Firefox version 1.0 or higher (PC and Mac)
   
  
• Safari version 1.0 or higher (Mac only)
   
  
• Opera version 8.0 or higher (PC and Mac)
   
  
• America Online's browser version 7.0 or higher

Bandwidth and Downloading Times

We have tried to optimize the loading time for files for persons using a 56K modem (dial up). Each game file is around 1.1 megabytes and will require several minutes to load if done over a dial-up modem. Using a T1 line, cable modem, ISDN, or ADSL, the download time is negligible (10-30 seconds).
